The Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), Regulation 1907/ 2006 is a comprehensive regulation effectively eliminating the distinction between existing and new substances in Europe.
It places at least some burden of responsibility for compliance on each participant in the supply chain and directs the use of chemical substances, whether as substances in polymers or formulated products, or in final goods supplied to end users. Chemical substances require registration within each supply chain, by EU manufacturer, EU importer or by the Only Representative on behalf of the non-EU supplier.
